Valerie Adams

Valerie Adams:

Valerie is a New Zealand athlete that was in 1984, in Rotorua. Her sport in the Olympics is Shot Put. She has won two gold medals at the Olympics and has won two gold medals and one silver medal in the world champions.

Facts:

1. Did you know Valerie won her first World Youth Championship gold medal at age 17.

2.She won the silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics, losing the gold to Nadzeya Ostapchuk. However, when Ostapchuk failed two drug tests, her results were cancelled and Valerie was named the gold medalist.

3. Did You Know She was named New Zealand's Sportswoman of the Year for seven consecutive years, from 2006-2012.
