Week 4 - Weekly Activity Day 3 (Activity 2)

Activity 2
When you are at the zoo, you have the chance to learn about some animals that are specifically found in your country. They are called ‘indigenous’ animals. This means that they are originally from your country. Use Google to identify two indigenous animals from your country. On your blog, post a picture of the animals and tell us a bit about them. What are they called? Where do they live? Red Fox

Image result for red foxesRed foxes are just like other foxes but a different breed, Red Foxes have white, orange and red fur. Foxes do not live in packs like wolves. Did you know that red foxes are related to dogs? Red foxes eat crickets, caterpillars, grasshoppers, beetles, crayfish,fruits, berries and grasses. It also eats birds and small mammals like squirrels, rabbits and mice. Red Foxes live in forests, grasslands, mountains, and deserts or sometimes in human farms.

Sea Otters

Sea Otters have light and dark brown fur, Sea Otters are one of the smallest mammals. Sea otters live in the northern waters of the pacific. Sea Otters sleep in forests of kelp and sometimes the sleep under big pieces of seaweed. Sea Otters eat clam, frogs, eggs, muscles and snails.

    You have also taught me a huge amount about both the red fox and the sea otter. They are animals that I didn't know much about. Thanks for providing us with so much information. It's awesome!

    After reading about both the fox and sea otter, which one do you think is the most interesting? Which one would you rather have as a pet? I think that I prefer to have the otter. I could build a little pond and make it a home in my backyard. Which one would you prefer?
