Bonus Activity
School is about to start again for a new year. Yay! Imagine that you walked into your classroom and your teacher asked you to stand up in front of the class and talk about the country that you visited. On your blog, you can:
- Post a short video clip of yourself talking about the country that you visited and the things that you learned (1 – 2 minutes)
- Type out what you would say to the class if you had 1 – 2 minutes to speak.

Hi everyone I will be talking about my trip to Japan, Going to Japan was so amazing and it was filled with so many nice and welcoming people. Japan taught me one special and imporatant thing and i was to try new things because they turn out to be amazing. Everyonehere should go and take a trip to Japan it is so AMAZING!!!
Hi Stanley!
ReplyDeleteGood on you for making a video describing your learning journey through Japan. To me, it kinda gave off the feeling that you actually went there! I like the points you made about the important things you learned and gathered from the learning journey - that trying news things can turn out amazing. True, indeed.
I also admire how you've transcribed your video into words, because at first when I tried to watch your video, it was restricted for me.
Don't worry, it's not you, it's me, there's an issue with the dashboard and how it's not letting me go off it, if you know what I mean (since I'm not part of the school domain anymore, I mean I'm going to be a Year 10) but enough about that, I'll save that story for another comment. Time passed by and I managed to watch your video and realised that I could've stuck with the description beneath the video!
Nice touch!
And congrats on completing the Summer Learning Journey programme! Your reflection was a great way to end it off.

ReplyDeleteWow looks like you have learned a lot about Japan and congratulations you have completed all the summer learning activities!
Katelyn: )
Hi Stanley, it sounds like you really did have a good time. What was your favourite food in Japan? Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteHi Stanley,
ReplyDeleteFirstly, I just wanted to say a HUGE congratulations on finishing up the Summer Learning Journey programme. You have done a wonderful job!
Secondly, I really enjoyed the video that you posted about the things that you have learned from your journey. I loved to hear you say that you have learned that it's okay to try new things. I think being brave and trying new things can be hard but it can also really pay off. I was really nervous when I first moved from Canada to New Zealand but I tried to be brave and 'give it a go' and I'm so glad that I did. New Zealand is amazing and I am so happy here. Imagine what I would have missed out on, if I'd stayed in Canada!
I hope that you continue to be brave and to embrace new challenges. It has been a true pleasure blogging with you this holiday!
I will see you early in 2017 when I come into St Pius X to hand out certificates and prizes!
Cheers,
Rachel :)

I like how you have also reflected on your trip more generally and included a comment that everyone in any situation can take on board - as you say, it's ok to try new things!
Have a great 2017!
Greetings from Germany,
Carolyn
