Translate the following five basic travel phrases into Spanish, German, Malaysian, Japanese, Arabic or Afrikaans. Use the Google Translate website to do the translations. This blog is a record of my learning from St Pius X Catholic School through to Tamaki College.
Wow Stanley,
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy on your blog! Great to see!!
I'm a Kiwi living in Germany at the moment. It's great to see you have chosen Japan - I have been there once, and would love to go back again some day! These phrases you have translated are useful aren't they - can you think of a couple of other phrases that might come in handy when travelling? And isn't it neat how Google Translate gives you the actual writing in Japanese too?
Sayoonara!

Kon'nichiwa Stanley! It's great to see that you were able to use Google Translate to come up with the best way to ask each of the 5 key 'travel phrases' listed on the website. As Carolyn will know, it can be tricky traveling to a country where they don't speak English as a first language.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn - how long did it take you to learn how to speak German fluently enough that you could ask for directions and for help? Was it difficult?
I hope that you will continue to post great blogs, Stanley! I'm really enjoying them!
All the best for a safe and happy start to 2017:)
Sayonara for now!
