Activity 2
One of the most popular activities in Madrid, the capital city of Spain, is called ‘Bullfighting.’ It has been a part of Spanish culture for centuries. In bullfighting people called ‘toreros and ‘matadors’ fight with a live bull. The toreros do most of the fighting and, ultimately, capture the bull and tie it up. Once it has been caught, the matador joins the fight and kills the bull. Although most toreros and matadors are men, there are some women who also compete in the sport.
Not everyone supports bullfighting in Spain. In fact, about 30% of the population want it to be banned (stopped) completely. What do you think? On your blog tell us whether or not you think that bullfighting should be banned in Spain. Please provide, at least, two reasons to support your decision."Bullfighting Should Be BANNED!!"
My Reasons:
1. My first reason for stopping Bullfighting is because, Bullfighters are killing innocent Bulls for no reason expect because they can.
2. My second reason for stopping Bullfighting is because, Bullfighters might get killed or even worse if they are not 100% focused on the fight.

DeleteWhat interesting reasons about why bullfighting should stop Stanley, I totally agree with you. Keep up the great work.
ReplyDeleteHello Stanley
ReplyDeleteI also agree with you. Bullfighting is a dangerous sport and people could get badly injured or even killed. It is also not fair on the poor bull who gets killed. Great job!

Kia ora Stanley,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your opinion about bullfighting. I really appreciate you giving us reasons as to why you think it should be banned. I like how you have clearly thought about this issue from both the perspective of the matadors and the bulls.
I agree with both of your points Stanley. I think it is very cruel that some people think it is okay to treat animals like that for the sake of entertainment! A lot of the poor treatment the bulls receive is to dull their senses, and make it easier for the matador to win the fight.
I think we're lucky that here in New Zealand we don't allow this kind of treatment to happen to animals. So whilst it is important to show respect for other countries and their cultures as well as traditions, we should also not be afraid to make decisions for ourselves in order to do the right thing.
Well done Stanley!
Dan.
