Week 2 - Weekly Activity Day 4 (Activity 2)

Activity 2
Some families are very large and some are very small. Some of the smallest families are found in China where parents are allowed, by law, to have only one child. This is quite different from countries like America (U.S.A.) where some families have as many as 19 or 20 children. It is rare but it does happen!
In America, there is actually a family with 19 children who have their own television show called ’19 Kids and Counting.’ All 19 children have the same two parents (Jim Bob and Michelle) and every single one of the children has a name starting with the letter ‘J.’ The oldest children is a boy named Josh and the youngest is a girl named Josie. Amazing!
If you’d like to see a small clip from the show, follow this link: 19 Kids and Counting
Imagine that you were one of the Duggar children and you had 18 brothers and sisters. What do you think it would be like to have so many sisters and brothers living with you in one house? On your blog please tell us what you would like and what you wouldn’t like about living in such a large family.

What I Wouldn't Like Being In A Big Family:
Being in a big family wouldn't be so easy because you might not have your personal space and not having your own personal space would be boring. Also going to the bathrooms and toilets would be so hard because there would be a Que in your own house.

I usually go with my family, but most of the time I go with my brothers. The pools that I go to is Swimarama in Panmure. I really like it because most of the time it is not full with that much people, its just me and my family. Also I like the pools because me and my family have takeaways or we bring a bqq. One part of the pools that I like is the water park near the slide because its so fun.

Week 2 - Weekly Activity Day 2 ( Bonus Activity )

Bonus Activity
According to numerous researchers and fitness experts, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. They argue that people who eat breakfast will have more energy, be in a better mood, be able to think more clearly, do better at school and end up healthier than people who don’t eat breakfast.
Interestingly, not everyone agrees. In fact, some people believe that breakfast is not the most important meal of the day because people often eat too much food at breakfast time, gain weight and become unhealthy. They think that it is better to skip breakfast and eat a number of small meals later in the day.
After reading the arguments presented above, what do you think? Is breakfast the most important meal of the day? Why or why not?

My Answer :

I think that breakfast is the most important meal of the day because, everyday you wake up your stomach is empty or your either hungry, so you will need some food to start your day and give you energy. I will recommend having something light because having something heavy will make you tired and sleepy again.

Week 2 - Weekly Activity Day 2 - (Activity 1)

Activity 1
Compare the picture of common breakfast foods in the country you’ve chosen with what you typically eat for breakfast here in New Zealand. I usually have a bowl of sultana bran cereal with trim milk and a cup of tea. What about you? On your blog, please tell us:

  1. What you eat for breakfast
  2. What people in your chosen country eat for breakfast
  3. Which of the two breakfast options (your breakfast or the breakfast in the other country) you prefer. Why do you prefer it?

Week 2- Weekly Activity - Day 1 (Activity 1)

Once you have read these phrases you will be ready to leave the airport and head to your hotel. Take a moment and imagine how you might feel if you were standing in the airport in a foreign country and you had to figure out how to communicate with people in a brand new language. Would you be scared? Would you feel confident? Write a short poem that describes how you might be feeling (i.e. excited, happy, scared, nervous, etc).

My Poem

Weekly Activity - Day 5 ( Bonus Activity )

Bonus Activity
It’s time to use your imagination to write a short story. I’ve provided you with three different beginnings for a story. Choose your favourite beginning and finish the story. What happens next? You can use your imagination and create any ending that you want. To earn full points, you must post, at least 8-10 sentences, on your blog.

My Beginning Sentence :
I knew it was going to be an unusual day when my mom came into my bedroom and said...

My Story:
Image result for family clipartI knew it was going to be an unusual day when my mom came into my bedroom and said you are going to spend your weekend at your aunt Suzie's house and you will be going to a very cool place you'd like. I Never liked going to Aunt Suzie's house because her kids, especially Charlie, he would always scare me in the night with his horrifying ghost stories. Even though I am 12, his stories still got to me and freaked me out. I tried to persuade mum but she didn't change her mind. It was 3:55 and mum was going to drop me off at 5:20 so I knew I had a lot of time to come up with the best mind changing reason to not go to aunt Suzie's house. First, I called my uncle Sione if I could sleep over his, but he was on night shift throughout the whole weekend. Second, I called my best friend Garry if I could stay over his house, but his house was full of relatives from out of town. The third time I thought of the best idea ever, My nana. Since Grandpa died, she stayed by herself. I was so happy because I always loved to going to nana's house because her chocolate brownies were the BEST. This time I whispered before I called nana " Third times the charm". I called nana and I said in a sad little voice " Hi nana how are you?" and nana said "Hi Stanley I'm good, What are you after I know that voice, cheeky" and I said " Would it be okay if I stayed over for the weekend", and she said " Sure absolutely". After talking with Nana, she said she would call my mum about this. I was very happy I wouldn't be staying at Aunt Suzie's house, Phew. It had come to the time to leave home for the weekend and go to nana's house. When we got in the car I reminded mum to call Aunt Suzie that  I wouldn't be coming and then mum said: "  Don't Worry". When we got to nana's house I saw another car similar to aunt Suzie's. Mum dropped me off and she couldn't get down to say hi because she had to go straight back home and pack. As soon as I walked in the door I saw Aunt Suzie. I said what are you doing here? and she said we were gonna come with you as soon as your mum dropped you off at our house but she didn't. I was kind of happy because I didn't see Charlie or any of his siblings. I walked into the kitchen happy until I saw CHARLIE........"NOOOOOOOO"

Weekly Activity - Day 5 ( Activity 2 )

Activity 2

Read the following three reviews of books that are really popular right now in Canada. If you had to choose one for Curious Kiwi to read on the plane, which one would you choose? Post the name of the book that you would chose on your blog. Below the title explain why you would choose that book.
The Book I Chose:
Matilda By Roald Dahl
Image result for matilda bookThe Reason why I chose this book is because it is a very good story filled with good life lessons that will help with children/adults during their life time. Also in the story it reminds us that we should always treat other people the way we want to be treated.

Weekly Activity - Day 5 (Activity 1)

Somebody Loves You Mr Hatch

Mr Hatch Wasn't so happy and active before receiving the chocolate and the card, he was usually a grey and lonely soul. After reading the card, Mr Hatch was the happiest man on earth. A few days later from receiving the chocolates and card, he found out that the chocolates we not for him and that original address was mistaken. The Next day everyone  recognized  Mr hatch had gone back to his old ways being sad and lonely. Everyone understood what he was going through, so they knew they had to do something.
